About:

India, with its vibrant and expanding consumer market of over 1.2bn people, and with more than a quarter of the world's under 25s, is expected to be the world's 3rd largest economy by 2030. This makes India an extremely attractive market with broad-ranging opportunities for London scaleups.

Join the Mayor’s International Business Programme (MIBP) India to support your business to expand to one of the fastest-growing economies in the world.

In conjunction with our main programme, this free 12-month initiative will consist of a mix of focused events, virtual meetings, panel sessions, mentoring, roundtables and exclusive connections to top corporates and investors – all individually tailored towards your expansion plans in India. Gain world-class support and advice for your international business success, including bespoke, on-the-ground support from our team in India, alongside our market and industry specialists.

Companies join the programme in cohorts, giving you a unique opportunity to collaborate and share knowledge with others across key sectors.

Format:

This free 12-month initiative, in conjunction with our core programme, will give you the opportunity to participate in a mix of focused events, virtual meetings, panel sessions, mentoring, roundtables and exclusive connections to top corporates and investors – all individually tailored towards your expansion plans in India.

You are still expected to attend events on our main programme, but the focus of this initiative will be to specifically support your business development in India.

In order to ensure the events programme is tailored to your specific growth objectives in-market, please spend 10 minutes to complete the questionnaire as your answers will support the planned activities we run across the year.

Events may include:

  • Meet the Accelerators
  • Meet the Corporate
  • Department for International Trade roadshow activity
  • Knowledge building: intellectual property, legal & accounting, human resources, the social media landscape
  • One-to-one matching with Indian companies

Eligibility criteria:

To join this initiative, your company must demonstrate a clear commitment to the Indian market and be a member of the Mayor’s International Business Programme. To maximise the support this initiative will offer, India should be a target market for your business. You may already have a presence in China, either recently entered or have been in-market for several years or are scoping the market as part of your expansion plan. Either way, India should be one of your top target markets.

When registering your interest, you will be asked a set of follow-up questions to ensure these criteria are met.

We will also have an information roundtable which will help us get to know you and your company to evaluate if this programme is a good fit for your business.

Any companies wishing to apply who are not yet part of the Mayor's International Business Programme, please note that you will need to apply and be accepted onto the programme to take part. Our eligibility criteria include:

  • 20% YoY growth
  • £1m in revenue or funding equivalent (or combination of both) per annum
